HUNGER
I saw through the brimming eyes of the child
standing alone on the pavement-with no tree left to shelter him
I saw the will to live, against hunger
the voracity to achieve lay hidden by the instincts of survival
I saw the invariable itch for love
and saw him being overlooked
by the passers-by
with their souls empty and stomachs full
I stood there and watched him die a hundred deaths
but no one was there to shed a tear on this heart rending funeral
And, still his ordeal continues with the dawn
of a fresh morn....

All of us our hungry...hungry for that single wish to be fulfilled and then another. Hunger dies with us and is reborn with the next creation.
