Introspection

I found myself sitting alone
to my surprise
in a crowd so profound
whilst tears stream down my eyes
I solemnly waited
and contemplated on pains I caused
I patiently tried
to recollect smiles I brought
Selfishness made me postulate
for a reason so complete
I saw you
fading and then deplete
as a whisper dies in the wind
warmth in my eyes
gave way to the cold
I bade you goodbye
without a trace of a tear
and nothing to hold
I staggered unto the path
showing my need for company
where still lay the last remains of the story
better off remain untold
