The Last Prayer
As I stood o'er the brook
with wind in my hair
caressing, as gently it shook
me, wherein I still gazed and stared
with a view going hazy on my eyes
a dream for people yet to perceive
I stood, therein breathed a sigh
the trickle of pain followed by relief
As I stood, I tried to look
for the corner where I played
I reached for 'that' warm nook
wherein, the love once stayed
but the nightmare appeared and I cried
doubled in pain, I bent and tried to reach
as the blood appeared, caked and dried
I recalled the words 'Ye' preached
I looked down to see
an axe, down my limbs searing
the pain soared, till I couldn't feel
the bereaved emptiness of the endearing
I prayed they could see
the clouds of doom hovering
choking their laughter and gay shrieks
full of love and assurance
I sought, I fought
til' I couldn't anymore
with last breath, I blessed my killers
whose appetite increases forevermore
my eyes welled with tears
I wailed not for the pain
but for the ones whom I held dear
those who swayed in rain.
I didn't know the inevitable
but I learnt the fate, the doom
incomprehensible, yet it remains
as what my brethren will succumb to
but I pray to 'Ye', O' Lord
let thy people wake and give up fight
let my brethren live a long life
and let them emerge together after a long gloomy night
