The Vanishing Vestiges

Quiet went the air,
silence swept the fields;
birds where chirped once,
Now, hate creepeth through creed.

The freedom once cherished,
was fought together and to win;
by the very brothers who now,
commit crimes against their kith and kin.

Love where once ruled,
peace, where reigned;
me, and you were where faces,
nothing more there exist but names.

Laughter where echoed,
smile where bounced through eyes;
carnage there dwells on street,
where men were slit from chest to thighs.

A man was butchered,
a woman was killed;
a kid was slaughtered,
by empty hearts, hatred that filled.

GODS and angels where resided,
the chariot of SATAN now there tread,
the freedom that they once won; now
remains the spectre they dread.
